2019 AGM & Christmas Drinks

OISC will be holding its 2019 Annual General Meeting along with the Christmas Drinks on Thursday December 5, 7:00pm at Glenunga Hub.

This will be a chance to speak to coaches and committee as well as have your say for Season 2020.

The club will also put on a few drinks for those in attendance.

Pursuant to clause 6.4 of the OISC constitution, OISC will be holding its 2019 Annual General Meeting on Thursday, December 5, 7pm at Glenunga Hub.

The following Business will be conducted at the AGM:
– President’s Annual Report;– Treasurer’s Annual Report;– Election of the Officers of the Club;– Nomination of Life Members;– Determination of 2020 competition;– OISC 3 Year Plan Report; and
– Any other business raised by members.

Election of Officers

If you are interested in joining the OISC committee for 2020, please ensure a nomination is received by the OISC Secretary in writing, stating: – The office nominated for; and – Signed by the nominee, their proposer and their seconder (all of whom must be members of the Club).

All nominations must be received by the Secretary seven (7) days prior to the AGM. Please e-mail the Secretary. Note that to nominate for any one of the “Principal Offices” (President, Treasurer, Secretary), you must have previously held an office. Please see the OISC Constitution for more information.

Nomination of Life Members

Nomination of Life Members “Life members” of the Club shall be elected by a three quarters majority of members present at the AGM on a recommendation of the Executive Committee.

For the 2019 AGM, the Executive Committee recommends Martin Radcliffe for OISC Life Membership as a result of his long standing service to the Club.

Marty joined the Club in 2005 (15 years) and has been an active member throughout his time at the club. Martin has played 227 games, scoring 41 career goals receiving a host of awards for his on field achievements. In 2006 he was awarded the Mr Walker Trophy for C Grade Best & Fairest and the 2014 E Grade Best & Fairest, a year when he was also named as E Grade Players Player. He has also been a leader on field, captaining several sides over the years and coaching the E Grade side . Marty’s service has also seen him serve on the committee and in the role of Secretary in 2007.

SERVICE AWARDS

Season 2019 saw the A Grade match its highest ever Div 1 finish of 3rd, the B Grade also finishing 3rd. The C Grade were once again solid with a 4th place finish. The D’s lifted the only piece of silverware as they took out the Div 4B title and in their debut year the over 35’s finished an admirable 6th. The OISC Women were once again strong with a 3rd place finish.

In his speech, President Julian Soriano reflected on how 2019 was a was a big year for the club. Welcoming new members to the coaching panel as well as thanking our sponsors for their outstanding support. He also noted that all men’s teams were competitive in their respective leagues right up until the final day, A Grade’s outstanding season and the D Grades title. He also reflected on the big changes off field including the new lease securing our future at Glenunga and the introduction of the new logo refreshing the OISC brand for the future. Thanks also once again went to all the unsung club volunteers and finally it was announced that Daniel Rossi has been re-appointed as A Grade Coach for season 2020.

2019 Presentation Night

OISC will be hosting their annual Presentation Night on Saturday 21 September.

This is the night to celebrate all that was in season 2019. The night will also award those players for outstanding display and performance in their respective teams and award those who are worthy of Clubman, Rookie of the Year, Fashion Award and of course the infamous Club V.

3 course meal of entrée, main and continental cakes plus a 4 hour drinks package is included.

Location is Republic Norwood, 120 Magill Road, Norwood

6:30pm for a 7:00pm start.

Formal Attire (NO Jeans).

2019 Ladies Day

A day just for the ladies…

Round 5, Saturday 11 May is the 2019 Ladies Day.

OISC would like to invite all ladies – be that girlfriend, wife, partner, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, lady friend or any other female connection – that are associated with the Club to come and watch all five men’s sides play in some big matches at the Glenunga Superdome. There will of course be free champagne for all ladies.

FFA Cup Round 2

The Magic of the Cup returns on Easter Monday with the second round of the FFA Cup South Australia. The A Grade will play host at Croatian Sports Centre to SAASL Sunday Premier side Elizabeth Grove, kicking off at 2:30pm.

FFA Cup Round 1

The Magic of the Cup comes to Glenunga in the first round of the FFA Cup South Australia. The A Grade will play host to Collegiate Soccer League side Sacred Heart Old Collegians in what is set to be a historic day for Soccer for the club and the local Burnside community.
