Thoughts from an Old Ignatian; Part Deux 14th August 2008 by PC

Just like the commentary in NBA Jam on Super Nintendo after you make two unanswered shots, the forum definitely has been 'HEATIN' UP'. Who would've 'thunk' it? Apparently Andrew Jennings is penning another work but has decided to move into the genre of graphic novels. The first book is titled, 'OISC Legends: The Committee of despair'.
Honestly sometimes I question whether our forum does more harm than good especially in the way we are perceived as a club, although it's probably the way we carry ourselves and perform on Saturdays that truly matters.

A good performance is definitely something the Olyroos lacked at Beijing. Along with many others I saw it coming due to the lack of potent attacking options. I guess one positive from the tournament is Graham Arnold will probably be removed from his position or step aside. Resigning would be the better option because it gives Arnold some dignity and the chance to acknowledge (whilst no know questioned his commitment and passion) he tried and wasn't good enough.

The coverage of the Olympics on Ch7 has been really poor and that's not just aiming at the Olyroo matches but the whole package. I believe that a particular network should endeavour to try and show almost all the sports at the games and leave it up to the viewer to determine what they prefer to watch. On Foxtel one has the chance to choose what EPL match they want so they obviously can focus on their particular team that is playing. This idea should be adopted into the Olympics so one can click and watch whatever event interests them. For example, the Equestrian is being shown as the main event because an Australian is competing but at the same time Roger Federer is playing so there should be an option to click on Tennis and follow his progress. If a commercial station with all their extra HD channels cannot handle this, then I say if Pay T.V. can accommodate and provide an equal balanced coverage of all events....give it to them.

In movie world The Dark Knight is going crazy. This movie without a doubt is the best superhero film ever made. All the hype surrounding the film and especially Heath Ledgers performance is completely justified. TDK is a movie that must be seen at the cinema because it'll kick your fricken ass but there also an intellectual side of the film that questions vigilantism and the small line between anarchy and order. Why so serious?

p.s. Jackie Chan is badass, seriously he's the fricken man. I'm a massive martial arts cinema fan and the stunts and action sequences found in his films are amazing. Check out these Top 10 stunts and fights:
